摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a profile information on the charged material surface in a blast furnace by using an antenna for microwave to measure the distance to the charged material surface in the blast furnace at suitable frequency in the necessary time. SOLUTION: A measuring lance 10 is always set in a space at a furnace opening part and two sets of the antennas 3 for the microwave are arranged at an interval of distance L at the tip part and on the way of this measuring lance 10. The distances X1 , X2 to the charged material 2 in the furnace are measured by transmitting and receiving of the microwave from each antenna 3 for the microwave. The inclining angleθof the charged material 2 in the furnace is calculated from the distance L between the antennas 3 for the microwave and the distances X1 , X2 to the charged material 2 in the furnace. By this method, the surface profile of the charged material 2 in the furnace is estimated.
