PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibacterial powder coating material which exhibits antibacterial properties high enough while contg. a small amt. of an antibacterial agent and gives a coating film having good characteristics by attaching antibacterial inorg. fine particles contg. silver, copper, zinc, or their complexes to the surfaces of powder coating mother particles contg. a resin and a curative. SOLUTION: The antibacterial inorg. fine particles contain silver, copper, and zinc each in the state of ion, pref. have a structure such that those ions do not separate from the particles, e.g. a structure wherein those inos are confined in numerous fine pores (a suitable example being that of a ceramic porous fine particle), and pref. have even average size of 1.5μm or lower. The powder coating mother particles are formed from a polyester resin, an epoxy resin, etc. The antibacterial particles are attached to the surfaces of the mother particles by dry mixing with a high-speed stirring mixer having stirring blades (e.g. a Henschel mixer or a Super mixer), and the amt. of the antibacterial particles attached is 0.05-1.0wt.% pref. 0.1-0.5wt.%, of the resultant powder coating material.
