IRON OXIDE PHOTOCATALYST AND PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN USING THE SAME

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an iron oxide based photocatalyst and to produce hydrogen by visible ray irradiation by using the improved photocatalyst. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst is composed of superfine particles 1 of iron oxide (Fe2 O3 ) having 10-1000Ågain size, superfine particles 2 of a platinum having 10-1000Ågrain size and an insulating base material 3 for fixing the particles, and the photocatalyst is immersed in an alkaline reactive aq. soln. of >=pH10 containing an org. matter and energy ray is radiated.
