发明名称 METHOD FOR JOINING DRY FRICTION MATERIAL
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve joining strength by providing a jointed prat with an intermediate layer which has a composition having copper content higher than that of the main body part of a friction meterial, at the time of joining a steel backing plate to a coppery dry friction material. SOLUTION: At the time of joining a dry friction material 1 of a type of copper-base metal, in which copper or copper alloy is used as matrix, to a steel backing plate 3, an intermediate layer 2 having volume copper content higher than the volume content of copper contained in the copper-base metal type friction material 1 is provided between the friction material 1 and the backing plate 3. At the time of joining, the thickness of the intermediate layer 2 is regulated to about 0.5-2mm, and first, the friction material 1 and the intermediate layer material 2 are integrally pressure-welded into one body, which is then put on the backing plate 3 previously plated with copper to 100μm thickness. Subsequently, heating is carried out in vacuum atmosphere and sintering and pressure welding are carried out while applying pressure. Further, it is desirable to regulate pressurizing force and temp. at this time to 5kg/cm<2> and about 900 deg.C, respectively. By this method, the shearing strength of the jointed part can be increased at least by >=3 times as compared with the case where the intermediate layer 2 is not contained.
