PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a convergence characteristic by generating a pin magnetic field in the direction canceling a horizontal deflection magnetic field with an auxiliary coil arranged in an electron gun. SOLUTION: Auxiliary coils SH1-SH4 are stuck on an almost cylindrical wall surface extending than a coil bobbin of a horizontal coil, in the rear on the electron gun side of the horizontal coil along the wall surface of a cathode ray tube so as to correspond to the corner of a display screen. A pair of auxiliary coils SH1, SH2 arranged on the upper side of the auxiliary coils SH1-SH4 is connected in series to a horizontal coil H1 in the direction canceling the deflection magnetic field of the upper side horizontal coil H1, a pair of auxiliary coils SH3, SH4 arranged on the lower side is connected in series to a horizontal coil H2 in the direction canceling the deflection magnetic field of the lower side horizontal coil H2, and as shown inΦSH, strong pin magnetic field is generated in the direction canceling the horizontal deflection magnetic field in the electron gun side of a deflection yoke 1.
