PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal gloss thermal transfer recording medium having a color ink layer containing pigment and showing highly bright metal gloss color almost same to that of a recording medium having no color ink layer provided thereto by providing the color ink layer in a dot form. SOLUTION: At least a release layer 2, a dot like color ink layer 3, a vapor deposited protective layer 4, a metal vapor deposited layer 5 and an adhesive layer are provided on the single surface of a base material 1 in this order. The dot like color ink layer 3 is constituted of ink dots 3a and ink uncoated parts 3c are present between the ink dots 3a and filled with the material of the vapor deposited protective layer 4. From a viewpoint obtaining metal gloss together having disired gloss and a desired hue, the ratio of the total area of the ink dots 3a to that of the dot like color ink layer 3 is pref. set to 5-70% and especially pref. set to 5-50%. |
