PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inflate an airbag vertically quickly and protect the lower abdomen part of an occupant effectively by folding both upper and lower side parts and both right and left side parts of the airbag structure, and making it more easy to inflate the airbag in the former folding than in the latter. SOLUTION: An upper part and a lower part of an airbag 10 are folded at a series of points 60a to 60e positioned between the central part and circumferences of the top and bottom of the airbag 10 to obtain a folded body 64. Both side parts 65 on the right and left sides of the folded body 64 are folded into an inverted roll type. To fold it into an inverted roll type, the folded body 64 is folded sequentially by rolling in both side parts 65 on the right and left so that its front end 80 may become its inside to form a cloth roll 82. The cloth roll 82 is inverted toward an occupant panel 14 side at its base part 84 so that both upper and lower side parts in the folded condition may be inflated more easily than both right and left side parts 65 in the folded condition, thus it is possible to protect the lower abdomen part of an occupant effectively.
