PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce activated carbon having high adsorbing ability by carbonizing milk protein by baking, activating it with water or an NaOH soln. and carrying out baking again. SOLUTION: Milk protein is baked, finely divided and activated by spraying with water or washing with an NaOH soln. and then firing is carried out again to obtain the objective activated carbon. The milk protein is, e.g. a soln. of powdered milk (scattered powder recovering liq.) produced in a process for producing powdered milk or commercial milk, return milk or powder obtd. by drying a precipitate formed by adding an acid to sludge. |
