PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease cross talk and cross erase and to match the recording characteristics in land tracks and groove tracks in a recording method using land tracks and groove tracks by forming a recording layer, a dielectric layer and a reflecting layer and specifying the component of the recording layer and the reflectance of the mirror part. SOLUTION: In this optical recording medium, recording and erasing of information is performed by the phase transition between an amorphous phase and a crystal phase, and both of lands and grooves are used for recording. The medium has at least a recording layer, a dielectric layer and a reflecting layer. The recording layer contains nitrogen. The reflectance of the mirror part in an amorphous state is <=10%. Further, the reflectance of the mirror part in a crystal state is controlled to between >=15% and <=35%. Thereby, the purpose above described can be realized and the medium can be easily formed by sputtering. |
