<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out update recording of value information corresponding to service by a method wherein a card is suitably checked in start of the service without increasing a recording capacity of the card. SOLUTION: A third recording area 3B wherein cord information corresponding to value information is recorded in issue is provided to a card 2 having a first recording area 3A wherein year and month of manufacture, serial number, etc., are recorded in issue, and a second recording area 3C wherein the value information is recorded in issue. A memory storing value information corresponding to the code information is provided to a public phone machine. The code information of the recording area and the value information of the recording area 3C are read in start of service using the card. The value information of the memory corresponding to the code information is compared with the value information of the recording area 3C to judge advisability of using the card. Consequently, correct or not of the card can be exactly judged without increasing the recording capacity of the card.</p> |
