PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the reverse tilt domains generated by the transverse electric fields in the spacing parts between pixel electrodes and wiring electrodes by forming conductive thin films having electrical conductivity on insulator layers in such a manner that these films come into contact with the pixel electrodes and exist at the circumferences of the pixel electrodes. SOLUTION: Switching elements 102 arranged in a matrix form, the wiring electrodes 103, 104 and the pixel electrodes 106 are formed on an array substrate 101. The insulating films 107 are formed as the insulator layers in the spacing parts between the wiring electrodes 103, 104 and the pixel electrodes 106. Further, the conductive thin films 105 having the electrical conductivity are formed in the state that these films are insulated by the insulating films 107 from the respective wiring electrodes 103, 104 and are conducted electrically to the pixel electrodes 106. The conductive thin films 105 are formed in the inter-electrode spacing parts where the transverse electric fields are most strongly generated in such a manner that the thin films maintain the electrical contact with the pixel electrodes 106 in such a manner and, therefore, the transverse electric field distribution generated in the spacing parts is weakened by changing the distribution. As a result, the generation of the reverse tilt domains occurring in the transverse electric fields is suppressed.
|
