METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING NUCLEAR FUEL GRANULE BY USING INSOLUBLE TANNIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture nuclear fuel granules efficiently with a little energy consumption without scattering the impalpable nuclear fuel powder when nuclear fuel of pellets or packed type is manufactured by using nuclear fuel granules. SOLUTION: A water solution containing nuclear fuel substances is put into contact with insoluble tannin, and the nuclear fuel substances are absorbed by the insoluble tannin. After the insoluble tannin which has absorbed the nuclear fuel substances is compressed and dehydrated, it is dried at the room temperature to 400 deg.C and the dried insoluble tannin is roasted at 400 to 2,000 deg.C in an oxidizing atmosphere or that of an argon gas or a nitrogen gas. The grain size of the insoluble tannin is 0.01 to 5mm, and the water solution contains the nuclear fuel substances of 1 to 10wt.%.
