摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extremely pliable electroconducting roller of a low hardness which is capable of securing an adequate nip width and does not contaminate parts to be brought into contact with such as a photosensitive drum, and further, endures a long-terms use as well as a method for manufacturing the electroconducting roller. SOLUTION: A plate-like body which is cut out of a soft polyurethane slab form is soaked into an emulsion containing dispersed constituting materials such as an acrylic resin, polyvinyl chloride and carbon black. Next, this emulsion is dehydrated and thermally dried to obtain the carbon black, which is, in turn, fixed into a foamed wall. After that, a roller is formed which is constituted of a cylindrical foam and a core metal inserted through the center of the foam. In addition, an urethane or an acrylic adhesive of a high viscosity is applied to the peripheral face of the roller and then is dried to form a filled layer. Further, a low viscosity urethane or acrylic emulsion is applied to the peripheral face of the roller according to necessity, and is dried to obtain an electroconducting roller with a highly wear-resistant surface layer.
