Free cutting apparatus for rotary saws used in cutting shrubs and small trees

The apparatus has a drive motor fixed to the end of a carrying tube and a wrap-around guard (20) attached to the gear housing. A further wrap-around guard (22) is releasably mounted between a thrust washer (12) and a hub plate (13) whose cladding (221) inclines away towards a screw-on cable cassette (17) on a peripheral zone lying above the cutting plane. The cladding is essentially bell-shaped. The further wrap-around guard consists of a first annular part (221) with an external diameter at least as big as that of the largest cladding diameter, and a pyramid- or cone-shaped second part (224). The first radial part has a circumferential upper bulge (222) at a lesser radial distance than the cladding diameter.
