Locking arrangement for electric plug connector

The arrangement has an electric plug connector unit comprising a socket housing (1) and a plug housing (2), which can receive at least one electric contact. The connector also has a handle arrangement to lock the two housings (1,2) together in the connected position. On one of the housings (1) the locking mechanism includes a U-shaped sprung element (10) with inwardly directed projections (12) with free arms (12) and a middle section (11). A guide channel (3) is arranged on the first housing (1). This runs perpendicular to the plugging direction of the two housings (1,2). The sprung element (10) is movably arranged in the guide channel (3). The first housing (1) has openings (4) through which the projections (12) can engages in the second housing (2) such that the two housings (1,2) can be locked together. The sprung element (10) cooperates with an inclined surface on the first housing (1) when pressed in, such that the projections are moved outwards from their location in the openings (4). At least two guide surfaces (6) are arranged on the first housing (1). These form part of the guide channel (3) and are arranged spaced from an intermediate space such that the middle section of the sprung element (10) can be pressed into the intermediate space (7) on movement perpendicular to the plugging direction. The middle section of the sprung element has at least three knee points (8) in the space between the guide surfaces (6). At least one of these points is arranged adjacent the guide surface such that an asymmetric movement of the projections is prevented.
