The drying section of a machine for making a web of material (especially paper or paper board) comprises group(s) of drying cylinders and path rolls around which the product web is led in a zigzag path with the use of a conveying belt. The path roll(s) (13,15,17,19) and/or one of the drying cylinders is provided with a separate drive mechanism (25).
