<p>A mount for an antenna for receiving or transmitting electromagnetic waves from or to satellites on geostationary orbit is disclosed. The mount enables accurate alignment of the antenna beam with the geostationary satellites by the beam scanning a cone (P, O) of which the directrix is the orbit of the geostationary satellites (O), whereas the apex of the cone is a point P coinciding with the location of the antenna. Said mount includes a rotary member (5) with a point F moving in a circle both on the cone (P, O) and in a plane parallel to the equatorial plane and adjacent to point P, and is characterised in that the antenna support arm is linked to points P and F via joints. At one of said points, the arm joint comprises a translationally locked but freely rotatable linkage, while at the other point, the joint comprises a linkage that is both freely translatable along axis P-F and freely rotatable.</p> |
