The control device is for an injected IC engine where sensors are used to ascertain operational parameters, a signal processor is used and where there are adjusters for the fuel flow, fuel pressure, air flow and ignition timing. The required engine torque is determined. This is then used to find values for fuel flow, air flow and ignition angle. Then from the fuel flow value, the injection timing is found according to layered or homogeneous operation. Finally the control signal for the start and finish of the fuel injection is formed, along with those for the throttle flap actuator and the ignition system.
