The method involves two or more hollow profiled members which are cut to length and bevelled, their bevel faces being heated and pressed together to form joining weld seams. Each member has a lateral protruding strip accommodating a seal, against which a mating frame or pane of glass bears. Before heating, the profiled members (1) are chamfered (7) at least at the strip (2) and at the side of the latter accommodating the seal (5). Where a seal has already been inserted in the strip, it can likewise be chamfered at the bevel face, and this chamfer can be flush with one on the strip. The chamfer angle can be 20 to 45 degrees, and they can be flat or crown-faced. |
