Car seat depth range adjuster relates to a laterally guided seat (1) plus a seat-mounted power-rotated shaft (3) at right angles to seat adjustment (14) and whose shaft ends carry fixed wheels (4,5) riding opposed areas (6) secured to carbody or seat. Wheels and areas are positively engaged. A releasable latching device (8) as seat adjuster locks into an opposed part fixed to carbody or seat frame. The latching device pivots round an axis parallel to that of the shaft rotation axis and presents a pivotally engaged/disengaged pawl. A spring (9) on one of the wheels (4,5) may ride the wheel circumference and may be pre-tensioned to the wheel axis so as to surmountably arrest the shaft in pre-set rotation settings or press onto the shaft in these settings. The seat area (1,1a,1b) may have front (1e) and rear (1d) end stops to limit the path moved before contacting the opposed elements (10,11) secured to the seat.
