Fixing of bearing bolt in valve rocker levers

The method concerns fixing of a bearing bolt (4) in a bore (7) in a housing, in particular, a valve rocker lever (1) produced by casting or deep drawing. To produce a required material and/or form-based joint with the bore, the bolt is spreadable at least at one end (8). The bolt is through-hardened. Prior to a spreading operation, the bolt and/or the bore at the ends (8, 10) are subjected to annealing at a temperature below the point at which pearlite transformation into austenite begins during heating. The bolt is fixed by material displacement in the direction of the housing and/or the bolt.
