Load raising fork-truck shelf with variably-suspended counterweights

The fork (1') has tines (2) fixed to a support (3) and carrying the load (9) on the preferably upright beam (4) which is suspended by a ring (5) from a crane hook (6). The counterweights (8) are hung from a carriage (not) depicted running on a horizontal track (7) extending from the beam into a housing (12) for protection of the operator, who directs the fork by means of a handle (14). A black box (13) within the housing incorporates the clinometer and a control circuit which moves the counterweights in either direction (10) or (11) to correct any tilt. Power for the circuit and carriage is supplied from the mains via a cable (16) and plug (15).
