The play area with running water is used by children. It has a watertight flat and level floor or apron (13) made of e.g. asphalt. There is at least one drainage grille (14) in the flat floor. There is a portal frame (6) standing near the middle of the flat floor. It may support a movable water channel (1) which divides into three channels (2-4) which end in round pans (15-17) with holes through which water can run out. A lever (7) hanging down from the channel assembly makes it easy for small children to move the assembly of water channels. Water may run into the channel through a fixed pipe (5). There are several water mills or mobiles (8-10) which may be moved by falling streams of water.
