The method involves the compression components (7,8) pressing successively on a tube (11), moving along the tube and finally being removed from the tube, whereby the tube is compressed by the compression bodies and thereby sealed. The speed with which a compression body is moved along the tube is increased during the period when the other bodies are removed from the tube.
