The coupling (1,3) takes the hose (14) axially and grips it radially via grip edges (18) on a grip ring. The grip ring is pressed into the grip position by interaction of sloping surfaces on the outer housing. The actuating sleeve (15) pushes the grip ring onto another sloping surface (12) to spread it and release the grip on the hose. The hose locates deep into the coupling past a seal (4) and with the grip edge cutting into the outside of the hose. The grip ring is made of an elastic material.
