DEVICE AND METHOD FOR COMPACTING METAL CHIPS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a compact of metal chips which is suitably used to remove the oil by heating under reduced pressure. SOLUTION: A forming device 100 is constituted by containing basically a disk-like base plate 101, cylindrical outer frame bodies 102 arranged on the base plate 101, almost columnar shaped forming tools 103 arranged movably to over the descending position into the outer frame body 102 and the ascending position separated from the outer frame body 102 and an elevating means for driving to elevate/lower the forming tool 103 and press-energizing with the pressing force corresponding to the compressive pressure of 1000-2000kgf/cm<2> at the lowering time. The outer frame body 102 has 50-200mmϕinner diameter D1 and houses the flapped metal chips 104 mainly containing oil and moisture. The forming tool 103 presses the metal chips 104 housed in the outer frame body 102.
