PURPOSE:To improve electrostatic chargeability and the photosensitivity in a long wavelength region by incorporating a specific bisazo compd. into a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contg. the bisazo compd. expressed by the formula I is provided to the photosensitive body. In the formula I, X denotes an oxygen atom, etc.; R1 denotes a hydrogen atom, halogen atom or nitro group, R2 denotes a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group, etc.; A denotes a bivalent arom. hydrocarbon group or a bivalent heterocyclic group contg. a nitrogen atom in the ring. The bisazo compd. is preferably dispersed in the form of fine particles of <=0.3mum grain size in case of dispersing the bisazo compd. into a binder resin. The compounding ratio of the compd. is preferably specified to 20 to 90wt.% by the weight of the photosensitive layer.
