PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable clear brown to black marking with laser light by compounding a novolak epoxy resin with a cure accelerator. SOLUTION: A coating material for laser marking is obtd. by compounding a coating material or ink with 5wt.% or higher novolak epoxy resin as the color-developing component, a cure accelertor in an ant. of 0.01-5wt.% of the resin, and if necessary 5-90wt.% filler selected from among a silicate compd., a borate, aluminum hydroxide, alumina, calcium carbonate, and magnesium oxalate. |
