PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in water resistance, head refuse resistance and sticking resistance by adding polyvinyl alcohol and an organoboron compd. represented by a specific formula to a recording layer. SOLUTION: In a thermal recording material having a recording layer containing a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a coupler, polyvinyl alcohol and an organoboron compd. represented by formula are added to the recording layer. The organoboron compd. is obtained by mixing and stirring a polymer of acrylic monoglyceride or methacrylic monoglyceride and boric acid and well compatible with polyvinyl alcohol and has action attracting a hydrophilic group of polyvinyl alcohol to a boron part. By this constitution, the thermal recording material can have effect excellent in water resistance, head refuse resistance and sticking resistance. |
