PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a material for building used in a joint compound, etc., of a bathroom and solve problems of malodors or coloring due to an antifungal agent. SOLUTION: This material for building is obtained by blending 0.01-0.05wt.%α-[2-(4-chlorophenyl)-ethyl]-α-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole-1-ethanol with the material for building such as a cement for a gypsum. Since the resultant organic nitrogen- and halogen-based antifungal agent is stable under strongly alkaline conditions, effects are sustained for a long period. Since the halogen is not liberated, problems of malodors or coloring are not caused.
