The invention relates to a fibre structure and method for the manufacture thereof. The fibre structure comprises superimposed layers of fibre material, which are treated with sizing compound and are allowed to set in order to form a three-dimensional corrugated fibre structure. According to the invention an anhydrous sizing compound, for example water glass or carboxymethylcellulose, is used so that the fibre structure can be broken down in the aqueous phase. A corrugated fibre structure is preferably manufactured, which comprises alternating superimposed corrugated or plane fibre material layers, which are composed of cardboard and/or paper pulp. By means of the invention a hard fibre structure is obtained, which can be reclaimed and utilised as packing material, insulation material and filler material. <IMAGE>
