PURPOSE:To provide a surface emission element having improved thermal characteristics for high density integration and improved environmental resistance. CONSTITUTION:The surface emission element is formed by the material having different band gaps of two or more active layers 4, and as a result, the width of gain is wider than the conventional one. Consequently, a fixed gain can always be secured for the rise of temperature. As a result, an environmental resistance surface emission element, which is not subjected to the heating of element and the effect of change in anbient temperature, can be obtained. |
