PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a substance capable of being used for retarding the progress of the rheumatism of a rheumatic patient having a gene tending to cause the serious rheumatism and for reducing the symptom of the rheumatism and capable of being used in the sense of a food at a low cost in a mass-producible state from the ground product of avian rib cartilage as a raw material. SOLUTION: The ground product (preferably having an average particle diameter of 1-10mm) of (A) avian rib cartridge is boiled for a prescribed time (preferably 8-15min), and subsequently removed from the boiled solution. In the boiling treatment, water is preferably used in an amount of 80-320ml per 100g of the ground product of the component A. The method enables to obtain the thermally denaturated product of II type collagen in a large amount and eat the thermally denaturated product as such as a soup, etc. Instead of the rib cartilage, the crystalline lenses of eyeballs may be used. |
