PRODUCTION OF ORGAN CULTURE PRODUCT OF PLANT BELONGING TO GENUS BUPLEURUM AND PRODUCTION OF SAIKOSAPONIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of further improving production efficiency of saikosaponin in an organ culture of a plant belonging to the genus Bupleurum. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a saikosaponin-containing culture product by the tissue culture of a plant belonging to the genus Bupleurum and capable of producing saikosaponin, the concentration of copper ion (Cu<2+> ) in a medium for an organ culture used in the production is adjusted to >=0.2μM to give the objective method for producing saikosaponin. Saikosaponin is purified and collected from the culture product containing saikosaponin obtained by the production to provide the objective method for producing purifying and collecting saikosaponin.
