The cylinder (210B) part of the piston cylinder arrangement used to urge the shoe against the counter-roll is housed in the support beam side of the shoe. - The shoe press contains a press shoe (200) and a counter-roll (312) that combine to form an extended nip (N) for a paper or board web (W) and an endless press sleeve (311). A horizontal support beam (309) and a hydraulic piston-cylinder arrangement (210) for urging the press shoe against the counter-roll are mounted midway in the shoe press stand. A work region (201) in the piston-cylinder arrangement is supplied with hydraulic fluid. |
