PURPOSE:To obtain a propolis product capable of eliminating an allergic substance therein so as not to substantially manifest the allergenicity thereof, sufficiently manifesting the pharmacological action essential to the propolis without removing ingredients other than allergic substances, e.g. ingredients having physiological activity such as flavonoids and safe in aspects of toxicity. CONSTITUTION:This propolis product contains propolis and an allergic substance such as isoprenylcaffeic acid is eliminated so as not to substantially manifest the allergenicity by the action of a hydrolase or an oxidoreductase. An esterase, especially a carboxylesterase is preferred as the hydrolase and one or more enzymes selected from the group consisting of laccase, tyrosinase, phenolase, bilirubin oxidase and peroxidase are preferred as the oxidoreductase. |
