PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a side knocking type by inserting a side button into a recess by pressing the button and colliding the end in contact with the oblique surface of a cam part of a sliding top, advancing the top to make it possible to feed a lead in at least one type of a mechanical pencil. SOLUTION: Recesses 25a, 25b are provided at the sides opposed at the ends of sliding tops 14a, 14b of a rear barrel 1 at the axial center side, and cam parts 17a, 17b having oblique surfaces at the rear side are formed on the front faces of the recesses 25a, 25b. A window is opened at the barrel 1 directly above the same position as the sides of the recesses 25a, 25b at the one advanced position of the tops 14a, 14b, and the end supported to the rear end of the window is mounted with a side button movable at the axial lead side of the barrel 1. When the button 26 is pressed and intruded into the barrel 1, the end is collided in contact with the cam part 17a to advance the top 14a, thereby advancing a mechanical pencil writing element 21a. |
