PURPOSE:To generate no color variation of the display surface caused by a visual angle by superposing and placing a liquid crystal panel into which a liquid crystal is injected and a dichroic pigment layer oriented vertically on the surface of a transparent insulating substrate between a pair of opposed transparent insulating substrates. CONSTITUTION:On a pair of transparent insulating substrates 21A, 21B, transparent electrodes 22A, 22B and an oriented film 23 are laminated, respectively, and on both faces of a liquid crystal panel 25 in which a liquid crystal 24 is enclosed between both the substrates, a polarizing plate 26 is provided. A dichroic pigment layer 27 oriented vertically against the surface of this substrate is superposed and placed on the liquid crystal panel 25 and the polarizing plate 26. As for a dichroic pigment, a pigment molecule of a yellow compound for absorbing blue is used, and by combining it with the panel 25 which becomes blue when a visual angle is changed, blue of the panel 25 and yellow of the dichroic pigment 27 negate each other, therefore, even if the visual angle is changed, a variation of a display color is not generated, and a satisfactory display quality is obtained. |
