<p>An indole derivative represented by general formula (1) and a salt thereof, wherein R1 represents lower alkoxy, lower alkoxycarbonyl lower alkoxy, carboxy lower alkoxy, lower alkoxycarbonyl, phenyl lower alkoxy, optionally hydroxylated lower alkyl, di(lower alkyl)amino-sulfonyl, etc.; R2 represents hydrogen, halogeno, lower alkoxy, lower alkoxycarbonyl lower alkoxy, carboxy lower alkoxy, etc.; R3 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; R4 represents halogeno or trifluoromethyl; and R5 represents lower alkyl. The compound is a potent 'beta'3 adrenergic receptor stimulant with a high selectivity, and is useful as a preventive or remedy for obesity, diabetes, etc.</p> |
