The subject of the invention is a microphone arrangement for discriminating a pointlike sound source from the background noise in an enclosed room. The arrangement makes use of two identical microphones, directed in the same manner toward a free space, being placed at a distance from each other of around n λ +/- λ/8, where λ is the minimum wavelength of the background noise, and n = 0 or an integer. The arrangement is intended to be used in so-called headset communication which occurs particularly in a noisy room. <IMAGE>
