<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the performance of an engine which is provided with air intake passages branching and extending to a combustion room in the interior of a cylinder from the external of this cylinder of an internal combustion engine and a throttle valve which can vary the opening degree of these air intake passages. SOLUTION: An air take passage 19 is provided with an air take passage body 20 constituting upper stream of the air intake passage 19 and a plurality of branch passages 21 toward a combustion room 14 from the down stream and of air intake passage 20. The direction to separate these branched passage 21 as reaching the combustion room 14 is made to meet the axial direction of a crank shaft 4. A throttle valve 24, which can vary the opening degree of the air intake passage 20, is provided. This throttle valve 24 has a pivotal support shaft 30, which freely rotates around the shaft center 29 staying at a position on the shaft center 29 across the air intake passage body 20, and a valve body 31, which is supported by the pivotal support 30 and rotates together with this pivotal support shaft 30. The shaft center 29 of the throttle valve 24 is arranged in approximately parallel with the axial direction of the crank shaft 4.</p> |
