PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diluent which can yield recorded images having improved waterproofness by incorporating a water-insoluble resin into a diluent which is mixed in a given amt. with an ink and ejected and deposited as mixed droplets onto a recording material. SOLUTION: This diluent, which is mixed in a given amt. with an ink and ejected and deposited as mixed droplets onto a recording material, comprises at least a water-insoluble resin. Pref., the water-insoluble resin is contained in an amt. of 1 to 50wt.% in the diluent. The resin may be contained as an emulsion or one soluble in a solvent contg. an aliph. monohydric alcohol or polyhydric alcohol (deriv.). The diluent may further comprise 0.1 to 20wt.% compd. selected among cyanoacrylate compds. of formula I (wherein R1 represents CN; and R2 represents an alkyl), benzophenone compds. of formula II, and benzotriazole compds. of formula III. |
