PURPOSE:To obtain reversible heat sensitive recording medium which reduces an environmental pollution factor and improves visual confirmation properties, by a method wherein after specific aqueous emulsion coating is applied onto a substrate, it is brought into contact with steam of a specific solvent and then dried. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous emulsion coating containing a matrix polymer and an organic crystalline particle is applied onto a subsrate such as a plastic film or paper or nonwoven fabric. Then after the same is brought into cotact with steam of a solvent soluble into at least either one of the matrix polymer or the organic crystalline particle, a drying process is performed, a reversible heat sensitive recording layer is formed and a reversible heat sensitive recording medium superior in visual confirmation is obtained. In this case, rearrangement or reseparation of either one of the matrix polymer or the organic particles is generated by drying treatment, its scattering state is improved and the visual confirmation properties are improved. Polyvinyl chloride or polyester resin or polyamide resin is available as exemplification of the matrix polymer and higher aliphatic alcohol or oxycarboxylic acid is available as the exemplification of the organic crystalline particle. |
