PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly feed waste plastic forwardly and to prevent the bending of a spiral ribbon. SOLUTION: A waste plastic vol. reducing apparatus consists of a trouch 3 having a charging port at the start end part thereof and a discharge port at the terminal end part thereof, the shaft-less spiral ribbon 4 arranged in the trough 3, the driver rotating the spiral ribbon 4 and a hot air generator sending hot air into the trough 3. A Teflon plate 7 is bonded to the part where the rotation of the spiral ribbon 4 does not reach the inner surface of the trough 3 over the total length thereof to cover the same.
