PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flying range for an iron based golf club head by forming the head using a monmagnetic steel containing Mn and C each at a rate of specified wt.% and iron and inevitable impurities for the rest. SOLUTION: A golf club head is formed using nonmagnetic steel made in a composition of containing 10-32wt.% of Mn and 0.1-1wt.% of C and iron and inevitable impurities for the rest. The nonmagnetic steel is melted in vacuum and the molten steel obtained is precision cast. The surface of the work is ground and the face surface thereof is finished by sand blasting to produce a club head. In the nonmagnetic steel 1-20wt.% of Cr may be contained. Moreover, it is also possible to add 1-10wt.% of Ni in place of Cr and to add both of the Cr and Ni. One or two of Si and V may be added at a rate of 0.1-3wt.%.
