In a method of installing a marker ball on high-voltage overhead cables, the cable is first fitted with a crosswise intermediate bearing (8) which is then fitted with a marker ball in the form of two half-balls (1, 2) which are secured to the ends of the bearing (8). The two ball halves (1, 2) have rims (3, 4) which engage each other. As the mounting is carried out by using an intermediate bearing crosswise to the cable, the installer has a better access to the attachment points (10), neither one of which is located on the opposite side of the ball from the installer. |
