Our society is becoming increasingly aware of the importance and value of conserving our natural resources. However we continue to be a "throw away" society in many respects. The present use and disposition of hand snow shovels / snow pushers is one example of this kind of reality. After the leading edge of the blade wears out, the entire shovel is scrapped even though the handle and other accessories are still like new. In this invention, Eco Shovel, the life of this type of snow shovel would be extended indefinitely through a modification in the design of the original shovel blade combined with the application of a modified replaceable and protective wearable blade called Shovel-Saver (ref. Patent File No. 2,015,692-9, filed 1990-04-30, owner Thomas, Julian P., Appendix A). Both the shovel blade and protective wearblade would be of polyethylene construction. This combination of a modified snow shovel blade and modified protective wear blade would produce a modular and unique hand shovel - herein referred to as Eco Shovel. The use of this modular snow shovel would play a significant role in the conservation of natural resources; also it would save the consumer money by eliminating the need to continually buy and replace snow shovels due to normal wear.
