Vibration damping unit of pinions (2a,2b) fixed axially on a shaft (1) and free to rotate in it. It is characterised in that it consists of a washer (3), solid with the shaft (1) and built up against the pinions (2a,2b). A circular seal (6) surrounds a cylindrical part (7) of the pinion, which is provided with a rubbing lip (12) elastically maintained bearing against the washer (3), but is able detach itself from it when reaching a certain speed under the action of a centrifugal force.
