The present invention is intended to easily carry out a replacing operation of ropes for driving a trolley within a short period of time. A rope (105) wound around a drum (100) in a machine room extends therefrom sequentially through a sheave (106) at one end of a girder, a sheave (107) at a main trolley (95), and the same sheave (106) to the drum (100) to be wound therearound. Ropes (125, 125) wound around the drum (100) extend therefrom through sheaves (126) at the other end of the girder, a sheave (127) at an auxiliary trolley (90), and conical drums (140) at the other end of the girder and then returns to the machine room to be fixed therein. The ropes (125) are wound around the drums (140) several times. The rotation of the drums (140) is halted. In replacing ropes, the rope wound around the drum (100) is connected to a new rope wound around a drum in the machine room and to a take-up drum at both ends of the rope around the drum (100) in the machine room.
