A computer network (1) consists of nine computers (R1 to R9). The computer (R1) has license management software (12) loaded and exchanges information with the other computers and with the module. It can be loaded into any of the other computers or into the module (10). The license management software manages the licensed software (L1 to LM) in the computers. The software (12) is supplied with the separate licences to a subscriber, and can have several possible applications. The authorisation part contains the module, along with the identification code and the licence information and code.
